"Mardi Gras. Fat Tuesday, to be exact. The city turns into a day/night of debauchery and good times. The booze is flowing, the beads are flying, and the music is loud and sweaty. This is New Orleans."

I've been to New Orleans many times. That said, nothing quite prepares you for Mardi Gras. New Orleans is already very party-heavy every other day of the year but during Mardi Gras it cranks it up to 12 and becomes a different beast altogether. I think Mardi Gras is one of those 'glad I did it once, and once is probably plenty' kind of events. I will always love to visit New Orleans. Maybe just not during Mardi Gras.

The weird and wonderful all converge on New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

Can't not have Cajun while in New Orleans. Wash it down with an Abita.

Contrary to popular belief parades run for almost a month up till Fat Tuesday.

One cool thing about Mardi Gras and maybe New Orleans itself is that nothing is out of the question. Like this dress.

Live music is never far away in the Big Easy.
